FUN TIMES....

I have been soooo bad at posting these past few weeks!  OMG, I think I haven't posted about a "real" post since like the 4th of July!!!!

So I'm gonna give you a quasi update, because I have in my mind written up great posts with lots of pics... but alas, none have made it here... so you will get a smidgen of what I wanted to write about.

Sound good??? I'm guessing so if you're still reading!
Let's start with the 4th of July... we spent the day at the beach.  I'd like to say that the water was warm and I swam like a fish... BUT this is the NORTH ATLANTIC, the water is NEVER warm.  So no water for me!  I detest ice cold water... I am more of a tropical beach kind of girl.  The kids on the other hand, they will swim in a vat of ice water!

Although after sitting in the car for 2 HOURS to reach the beach, I was seriously considering jumping into the ocean... NOT!!!!

Oh and for those of you that pay like $5 to pay to park at the beach... check this out!

Yes, that does say $15 for parking... and that was the CHEAP parking!  These spots required walking like a mile to the actual beach!!!!  The parking spots closer were all full but they were charging a whopping $30 the day!!!!  Robbers, all of them... now how do I go about purchasing an open lot at the beach? hmmmm....

Here we are getting a little restless as we crept towards the water front...

Tyler was the first to jump in the ocean... that boy loves the water... cold or not!

Then Carlos put Sebastian into the ocean....

Umm.... this is ok... I think.....

Ummm...NOPE...
daddy I really don't think I like this......

YEAH... I'M PRETTY SURE I DON'T LIKE THIS AT ALL!

My poor baby is like me.... only likes tropical beaches!

Isabel enjoying the beach with her friend Andrea...

Sebas enjoying the beach blanket much more than the water!

This was Sebastian's first time (well second if you don't count when we took him in October to Santa Marta, Colombia!)  and he loved playing in the sand.

Who doesn't love to be buried in the sand???

I love this pic...

Sunset on the way home from the beach... I love the sunsets at the beach so beautiful!

I like the way Isabel took this picture and you can see her in the rearview mirror of my car.

The aftermath!!!  Tyler crashed not 10 minutes after we reached my cousin's house!  Poor kid played hard and crashed just as hard!

Although... how on earth does one fall asleep in this pose????

So there is a bit of our 4th of July weekend.... next post will catch you up some more!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!  My day started off great, the kids got up and couldn't wait to give me their presents they had for me.   Sebastian had a bunch of big, wet, drooley kisses and hugs for me... and honestly, what is better than that???  Tyler gave me a daisy seedling he grew in school, in a little plastic pot he decorated himself, and Isabel wrote me a poem about how much she loves me.  Do you want to hear it?  Ok, it goes a like this:

I Love You Mom

I Love
I Love a lot of things, a whole lot of things
like
when you took me to Hampton Beach and with titi and Ache and we all ate at a resturant
AND
when we went and shopped all night
AND
when I first met Beto
and I love him
after the night
BUT I love
I love a lot of things, awhole lot of things
And Mom
I love you too.

awww... isn't it sweet?  I love my girl, it's these moments that erase the bad ones!

On friday my sister called me to tell me that Macy's was having a ridiculously great sale on saturday with a preview on friday, and would I be so kind as to verify that the sale prices were good today... oh, and she just happened to see the Kitchen aid stand mixer 've so badly wanted on sale.  OK I'll go check on the sale prices.  Yes, the sale prices were valid today...AND YES my stand mixer that normally costs $299 was on sale for $179!!!!! Wooo Hooo!!! So I purchased myself a wonderful mother's day gift and brought home my stand mixer to make some bread!

Isn't it beautious!!!  I have wanted one of these FOREVER!!! OK, maybe not forever... but it sure seemed like it!

So I took it out of the box as soon as I got home, washed it and put it on my tiny kitchen counter.  Then I broke out the cook books... I just needed to make some bread.  I found one for french bread, I had all the ingredents, and got to it.

I got my loaves formed and in the oven...

THEN......

looks good, right? ehhh it could have been better, I didn't measure the salt... I just eyeballed it and they were a little bland.  Oh well, live and learn.

But I made my bread, I ate my bread... and though it was not as delicious as I had invisioned, I liked it.

Enough about the bread... on to the rest of my day.

So my day was filled with sporting events.  Both kids had games, Tyler had soccer and Isabel had a softball game.  So we got up and had blueberry pancakes for breakfast, which were yummilicious.  Then took showers, got clothed and headed out the door to Tyler's soccer game.  Here I would like to note that it has been all of 60-65 degrees out the last four days... WHAT THE HELL!  It was 80-90 degrees a week ago!  Not today.. today was cold, blustery and COLD!

We went to the soccer field, and I swore I was going to get blown away!  It was just plain ridiculous how windy it was.  But Tyler played his heart out, and tried as hard as he did the white team was GOOD!  He almost scored a couple of times, but they shut him down... he was a tad bit upset, as he HAS to make a goal every game (his goals NOT mine)... but I pointed out the fact that he played his best and that he had done really well despite the fact he didn't score.  This seemed to help a little, not much.  So to console him, we went out for ice cream.

In case you don't believe me that it was blustery... just take a look...

I can't believe how big she is getting!  She just doesn't look 10 years old in this picture to me... *sigh*

Poor Sebastian kept getting his breath taken away by the wind gusts!

After the ice cream, we stopped home so Isabel could grab her equipment and change into her softball uniform, then we headed back out to the Lassie League fields.

The game was great!  The two teams fought hard for the W... but they ended up tied.  11-11!!!  Isabel almost got the winning runs in, but the wind blew the ball foul, the next hit was a base run.. but she was at least able to hit a run in to tie up the game.   I would love to post pics, but I took videos of her hitting instead, and for some reason I can't get them to post... next time.

After we came home and ordered some pizza and ate some grub.  I had the kids jump in the shower, and change for bed while I crashed on the couch.

That's it... that was my mother's day.  Not the most exciting ever, but I spent the entire day with my three angels and that's good enough for me!

I hope everyone had a great mother's day!!!!

Hi! Remember me?

No?  You don't remember me?  Oh, don't worry... I'll help you out!

Yeah, I know, I fail at this blog thing.  But my life has been insane for the last couple of weeks.  So I will try to catch you up to semi-speed on my busy life.

So first of all Friday (two weeks ago) Tyler had his mother/son BINGO game.  It was so much fun, its for grades K and 1... the rest of the school has a mother/son basketball game.  So Ty and I played bingo, and we had a blast!  granted it was only one hour, but it was soo nice to do something just me and Ty.  All the kids got a prize regardless of whether or not they won.  It was cool, all these boys with their moms  and everyone was smiling and laughing.  Can you tell that I had a good time?  hee hee hee.

Can you tell which of these prizes was his favorite??? I'll give you a hint... its got the super heroes.

Ummm... if I remember correctly, that weekend the kids were with their dad.  So Carlos and I chilled at home and I believe we visited my dad.  Wow... I know, you can hardly contain yourself from all the excitement.  Thus is my life!

SATURDAY and SUNDAY

Ok, that weekend the kids were with their dad... and THANK GOD!!! Isabel had a cookie booth sale at 10am.... and I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO!!!  But I went and bought my cookies... I love me my cookies.

Aren't they sweet!!!

The girls I mean!!!  hee hee hee....

Now... that is the last weekend of March...  I think I spent the weekend at my dad's enjoying the weather and having BBQ as its finally warmed up enough to sit out and grill!  Yea!!!!

The following week is quite the blur... I believe there was a lot of school work, Yes I am taking college courses towards another degree.  I had a lot of normal running around to do with the kids...

Mondays- Isabel and Ty get off the buss at 3:30pm and Isabel has to go to dance at 4pm... so we run off to that, then come home make dinner, run back to pick up Isabel at 6:30pm.

Tuesdays- nothing

Wednesday- the kids go have dinner with their dad

Thursday- Ty goes to dad's afterschool... Isabel goes to HipHop class from 4-5pm then GirlScouts 6:30-8pm every other week. Then Isabel goes to her dad's to spend the night... every other weekend they stay over their dad's.

Friday- depends on the week, but usually I spend a good 2 hours yelling at both kids to pick up!!!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Easter was in there... but nothing big to report as the kids were with their dad, so the easter bunny did not come to our house this year.  Sad, yes I know.  But Carlos Sebastian is still too young for stuff like that, but oh well... next year will be more fun.  We went to church, then went to my dad's house and had an Easter cook out, Yes I did say cook out... I know.  I too thought it was quite getto, but that's how we roll!  Deal... ;op

Here I am all decked out in my Easter best!  Sooo snazzy... (as my son says now)

Here's Sebas with Papa (my dad)

Here's Mamia (my mom).  I took her for a haircut and I colored it for her as we had our Easter BBQ.
Again a little getto, , but what can you do!

This ball of hair is Munchie, a/k/a a dog in desperate need of a grooming.
Don't worry he got one, I'll post a pic a little later.

Here's Sebas listening attentively to a conversation that has nothing to do with him... but he's sooo cute!

This past saturday (4/10) Isabel went horseback riding with Girl Scouts... they learned all about how to take care of horses and then how to brush them, then went a ride. Oh yeah, let me make this little side note... DO NOT TAKE A BUNCH OF 10 YEAR OLDS TO A FACILITY THAT TELLS THEM THEY CAN GET HORSES FOR FREE AND IT IS NOT THAT EXPENSIVE TO CARE FOR THEM.  With that I will allow you to figure that all the girls now want horses.

After that we went to the New England Aquarium in Boston... fun times... I love me the Macaroni Penguins!!!

Aren't they ADORABLE!!! I think its the crazy puffs of hair that does it for me.

AND with that I will have caught you up to this weekend.  Don't worry, I have posts for JUST the aquarium and Isabel's Girlscout outing thing...
But right now, if you haven't already fallen asleep, I think you must be praying for the end!

Turkey Day - T minus 9 days and counting...

Am I the only one that is totally excited about Thanksgiving?  For the last week I've been more than ready for Thanksgiving Day... and... T U R K E Y!!!!

Maybe its all the thanksgiving day themed shows on the Food Network, actually I'm 100% sure that that is the reason.  But come on, who doesn't enjoy a good Turkey Day meal with all the fixin's???

So to stay off my urge to cook an entire turkey prior to next thursday, I have been baking.  NOT GOOD!!! I'm going to gain like 10 lbs before thanksgiving!!!  So yesterday I decided I need to bake, I'm going to bake... where's the brown sugar!

Oh well, tis the sacrifice one needs to make during the holiday season... sounds good to me!

So first I baked an apple pie.... oh yumminous, I haven't baked an apple pie in about 3 years.

Doesn't that look yummy??? Can you tell that I went all out and put cut outs of acorns and maple leaves???

Here's a close up of the cut outs... I can't tell if you can see them, but I assure you they are there!
I thought it would be cute to add some pizzaz to the top of the pie.

So after an hour of baking, the wafts of warm apples and cinnamon filled my apartment.  So off to the oven I bounced anxious to see the final product...

AND..

TAH DAHHHHHH.....

OH yeah baby.... tastes as good as it looks!!!

I also baked a Cinnamon Carrot Bread, but I forgot to take pics of that, and half of the loaf is gone now soo no go on the pics.

I am however baking another carrot bread to give to my dad and his new wife, so I'll take pics of that one.

I do have to say, I bake some darn good bread!  Both kids loved it, even though I had told them it was carrot bread.  AND since carrots are vegetables, that is usually an automatic "NO, I don't like it!!".  Not today though, both kids loved it.  So much as to say that Tyler took some to school today for his snack time treat!  Love it when my baked goods are a hit with the kids.

Yesterday, I also finished a new scarf that I put up for sale on my Etsy's page.  Its about 5 1/2 feet long, and made in Patons Bohemian in Beatnik Blues colorway.  Now... if you have ever had the pleasure of feeling anything made from this yarn you will know that this is one of THE softest, plushest yarns out there!  I have a scarf that I made out of this for myself, and I wear it ALL winter long!

I'm working up another one in black and white speckled, and I have a pinkish color too that I will be working up after that.  Keep an eye on my page....   (Yes, that was an shameful plug for you to go see my Etsy's page!!!!)

And that's pretty much it for my Monday!  I know... shameful, but OH WELL!!!

;o)

Remembering....

I just was thinking, I wanted to thank all those brave women and men that put their lives oh the line to protect our freedoms and way of life around the world.  Those that do what I personally am not willing to do, to ensure that we have the freedoms that we take for granted.
